SHAPE

Choosing the right diamond shape for your partner can feel like a hard decision, but usually your gut instincts will lead you to the perfect shape.

Round

The most popular diamond shape with the highest brilliance and sparkle thanks to its ideal facet pattern. Works with any setting (solitaire, halo, trilogy) and suits every hand shape. Round diamonds usually carry a small price premium, but deliver classic, timeless shine.

PRINCESS

PRINCESS

A modern square shaped diamond with sharp corners and exceptional brilliance. A great alternative to round brilliant cut stones, Princess cuts often offer a unique alternative with lots of sparkle. Choose protective claws or a bezel setting to keep corners safe in daily wear with his shape.

SHOP NOW

EMERALD

EMERALD

The elegant, vintage-inspired step-cut diamond with the famous “hall-of-mirrors” effect. Emerald cuts emphasise clarity and symmetry over scintillation, giving a vintage classic design in a large carat weight appearance due to  their elongated shape which makes fingers look slimmer. In the same way we associate heels to make our legs look longer an elongated diamond shape makes the finger look longer and slender.

SHOP NOW

PEAR

PEAR

A hybrid of round and marquise, the pear-shaped diamond is a vintage classic which elongates the finger and offers a larger size appearance from the face-up shape, giving you a great price on a larger diamond center look. Wear the point towards the fingertip for the most flattering line. However we see many people wearing their pear cut diamonds in different ways and styles, each one is made and worn uniquely by you.

SHOP NOW

OVAL

OVAL

An elongated brilliant cut that looks larger than a round of the same carat weight and flatters every hand, making the fingers appear longer and slimmer. A well-cut oval minimises the central “bow-tie” which is a dark shadow that appears horizontally across the centre in the shape of a bow tie, diamonds with little to no presence of a bow-tie are very valuable and visual perfection delivering white bright light and a lively sparkle from every angle.

SHOP NOW

MARQUISE

MARQUISE

The boat-shaped marquise diamond is a vintage shape which is still very popular today. It maximises finger coverage and face-up size, giving standout presence for the carat. Protective claws at both points are recommended.

SHOP NOW

ASSCHER

ASSCHER

A square cousin of the emerald cut with clipped corners and a high crown. The Asscher diamond is a vintage shape which shows clear step facets, similar to an emerald cut, however the ascher maintains an equilateral square shape and creates a mesmerising windmill pattern, pure Art-Deco charm.

SHOP NOW

RADIANT

RADIANT

A radiant-cut diamond combines the outline of an emerald cut with the brilliant facet pattern of a round cut, allowing it to maintain its sparkle, mainly known for its elongated form; however radiant cuts can be a more equilateral shape too; each one is uniquely different. Always compare both available shapes to see which you prefer; a square or rectangular shape.

SHOP NOW

CUSHION

CUSHION

A cushion-cut diamond with soft, rounded corners. Choose between “chunky” antique facets which some compare to an old mine cut, or rose cut, which look similar to the cushion shape, or what many people refer to as seeing “crushed-ice” inside their diamond which is the sparkle. Cushions look gorgeous in halo and vintage-style settings but are also captivating in a minimal solitaire setting or trilogy.

SHOP NOW

HEART

HEART

The ultimate romantic diamond shape. A heart cut needs precise symmetry to keep its appearance and usually looks best from 0.75 ct+ so the shape is clear on the heart's cleavage and curvy sides. Known as the most romantic cut it works beautifully as a solitaire, shoulder set or in a vintage style halo setting.

CLUSTER

Cluster Diamond Rings have a larger looking carat weight, however they are made of lots of little diamonds called diamond melee which are all set closely together in a pave style to create a glorious looking size filled with sparkle. These rings are brilliant for a couple that want to maximise size and have their diamond ring make a statement. Available in various shapes all created from these tiny round cut diamonds, a true work of art.

If you want to create the look of a larger stone, then our cluster rings selection is perfect for you creating this larger diamond carat weight appearance but without the price tag.

FOUR STONE

Four Stone Diamond Rings are a contemporary take on the traditional multi-stone Diamond Ring or well known five stone diamond rings. A Diamond Four Stone Ring is the perfect gift for any occasion, especially if it is for a big milestone like your 40th birthday or 40 year anniversary or if you have four children together, there are many sentimental reasons why so many people are now going for a four stone ring. It is a great alternative to the five stone ring if you are a small finger size as the width fits nicer on petite hands and is more practical for daily wear. All rings can be customised to your ideal carat weight and metal type for all our rings with a wide range of diamond shapes to choose from.

MENS

Men’s Diamond Rings have never had so much variety, with vintage and traditional rings to a whole new range of modern masculine designs with metals many of us are not familiar with. Traditionally men’s rings are always thicker bands in comparison to traditionally feminine designs however now we are seeing all types of rings and new ways for men to express themselves through jewellery and accessories. A new trending metal on the market today are Men’s Black Zirconium rings, which is the best metal option available when you want a black wedding ring or black metal ring, most men find themselves searching for gun metal materials and come across this incredible alternative. Our Men’s Rings can be customised based on metal, diamond shape and size and are available with 0% Finance.

WHAT DO THE 4CS REALLY MEAN, AND WHICH SHOULD YOU PRIORITISE?

The 4Cs - cut, colour, clarity, and carat - are the universal standard for assessing a diamond’s quality:

CARAT

This is the weight (and perceived size) of the diamond. Bigger isn’t always better; the other three Cs affect how impressive the stone looks however making sure the size looks right on your hand is also important as going for a carat weight that it too large can become impractical in daily life and going for a stone too small you may not be able to see the high colour and clarity grades you have chosen as easily detracting from the overall appearance of the stone, and for larger hands the diamond can look more lost on the finger.

COLOUR

Diamonds are graded from D (colourless) to Z (light yellow to brown). The less presence of colour, the rarer and more valuable the diamond.

To see a difference in colour between two diamonds, you usually have to compare at least three colour grades
(i.e, E Colour and a H Colour).

CLARITY

This looks at tiny imperfections, known as characteristics which are known as inclusions (within the stone) or blemishes (on the surface of the stone) and how visible they are. A low graded clarity can affect the light and beauty of a diamond so it is important to assess the diamond's clarity and whether or not the inclusions are visible to the naked eye (without using a x10 magnifying glass or jewellers loupe), so you don’t need to aim for absolute perfection but it is important to know what inclusions are present and where inside your diamond, a GIA or IGI report will often comment on visible inclusions and GIA will tell you what type of inclusion is present in your diamond and some contain a diamond plot to show exactly where your inclusions are inside your diamond.

CUT

Cut Cut

CUT

This refers to the diamond's shape and faceting. It’s the biggest factor in how much the diamond sparkles. Assessing the diamonds ratio and proportions to reflect the light as best as possible which will affect the return of bright white light we know and call a diamond's brilliance. Even a high-carat diamond will look dull if the cut is poor.

WHICH METAL COLOUR SHOULD I PICK? PLATINUM, WHITE, YELLOW OR ROSE GOLD?

The metal you choose should suit not only yours or your partner’s style, but also showcase the diamond.

PLATINUM

If you want a ring that stays naturally white, is tough for everyday wear, and is kind to sensitive skin, platinum is a brilliant choice. It costs more than gold, but many couples choose it for long-term durability and colour that never needs replating. Industry research shows platinum remains one of the most sought-after metals for engagement rings, with its strength making it a favourite for secure diamond settings.

Platinum’s density means it holds stones more securely than lighter metals, which is especially important for delicate or intricate designs. For example, platinum is often chosen for halo settings and pavé bands, where multiple small diamonds need a strong, protective base. Its naturally hypoallergenic quality also makes it ideal for anyone with sensitive skin. If budget or lighter weight matters more, 18ct white gold provides a similar look but may need occasional replating to maintain its finish.

IS PLATINUM WORTH IT FOR AN ENGAGEMENT RING?

If you want a ring that stays naturally white, is tough for everyday wear, and is kind to sensitive skin, platinum is worth it. It costs more than gold, but many couples choose it for long-term durability and colour that never needs replating. Choose platinum if you want a forever-white, robust, low-allergy ring, especially for delicate settings such as halo rings, pavé bands, or intricate vintage-inspired designs, where extra strength is needed to keep smaller diamonds secure.

18ct Rose Gold

This pink hue gold originally gained popularity in the 1920s, then made a big comeback in the 2010s, driven by celebrity engagement rings and the wider trend for vintage-inspired jewellery. The unique blush tone of Rose Gold is created by mixing gold with copper. As all our gold engagement ring mounts are 18ct gold, the composition will be 75% gold, with 25% copper. Rose Gold Engagement and Wedding rings give an elegance that not all metals can achieve.

WHAT MAKES 18CT ROSE GOLD DIFFERENT FROM OTHER METALS?

18ct rose gold has a distinctive blush tone thanks to its blend of pure gold and copper. Unlike white or yellow gold, it offers a warm, romantic finish that feels modern yet timeless.

18ct White Gold

White gold is still an incredibly popular choice of metal for engagement ring settings. White gold has the same overall appearance as Platinum, but it has a brighter ‘white shine’ and is a more affordable alternative than Platinum.

White gold is naturally an off-white colour, usually with a slight yellow tint, as it is usually mixed with palladium or magnesium. However, to give white gold the trademark brightness, it is plated with rhodium or iridium. It’s not uncommon for this plating to wear over time, returning to its natural colour. However, it can be polished and replated to restore the metal to its former glory.

WHICH GEMSTONES LOOK BEST IN 18CT WHITE GOLD?

White gold enhances the brilliance of diamonds but also works beautifully with sapphires, emeralds, and aquamarines. Its cool tone pairs especially well with vibrant coloured stones.

18ct Yellow Gold

Yellow Gold is a classic and timeless metal choice for any engagement ring. For thousands of years, yellow gold has been used in jewellery for its warmth in colour and its resistance to erosion. The colour of the gold is determined by what other metal alloys are mixed with it, such as copper and zinc.

WHAT IS 18CT GOLD MADE OF?

18ct yellow gold is made from 75% pure gold mixed with alloys like copper and silver. This blend keeps its warm, classic golden tone while making it strong enough for everyday wear.

DIAMOND RING FAQs PEOPLE ASK BEFORE THEY BUY

How much should I actually spend on an engagement ring (UK)?

There isn’t a rule anymore, so ignore the “three months’ salary” myth. Start with a number you’re genuinely comfortable with and that is realistic, and build the ring around that. If you want the most sparkle for your money:

  • Prioritise cut quality first (it affects beauty the most)

  • Consider near-colourless (G–H) and eye-clean clarity (VS–SI)

  • Look at carat breakpoints (e.g. 0.90ct instead of 1.00ct) for a price drop with a similar look

  • Explore lab-grown if you want the same carat size at a lower price point

  • We also offer 0% finance, so you can spread the cost

What diamond cut looks biggest for the price?

  • Elongated shapes usually appear larger for the same carat weight

  • Oval, marquise and pear look the biggest on the finger

  • Emerald and radiant can also look generous because of their long measurements

Round gives the most balanced sparkle, but the face-up size looks a touch smaller than the elongated cuts at the same carat. If you want “largest look per carat,” start with oval and marquise cut diamonds.

Do you have in-person shops where I can browse rings?

Yes. Book a free appointment at one of our UK showrooms spanning from Glasgow to London’s Hatton Garden. You can try different shapes, metals and settings with a diamond expert, zero pressure, just proper guidance.

What questions should I ask when I visit in store?

Bring these with you or save this list on your phone:

  • Certification: Is the centre diamond GIA/IGI-certified? What’s the cut/colour/clarity and fluorescence?

  • Appearance: Are there any visible inclusions? How does it look in daylight vs store lighting?

  • Measurements: What are the mm dimensions (not just carat)? Will it sit flush with a wedding band?

  • Setting: Which prong style is safest?

  • Metal: Pros/cons of platinum vs. gold for daily wear?

  • Practicalities: Do you offer resizing, warranties, insurance valuations, cleaning, and maintenance services?

  • Budget: Are there near-carat options (e.g. 0.90ct vs 1.00ct) that look similar for less? Any lab-grown alternatives?

I’m torn between two rings. How do I pick?

  • Try both in natural daylight and take videos on your phone to look back on.

  • Compare what really matters to you: sparkle vs size, finger coverage vs profile height.

  • Check how each ring pairs with a straight or curved wedding band.

  • Consider long-term maintenance (lots of tiny diamonds = more cleaning).

  • Sleep on it and ask yourself, which one makes me smile instantly?

If you’re still stuck, book an appointment, and we’ll help you decide without any pressure.

I need advice on a custom diamond engagement ring. What should I do?

  • Bring inspiration (photos, Pinterest boards, heirloom pieces)

  • Set your budget

  • Choose the centre stone (shape, carat range, cut/colour/clarity)

  • We’ll design the setting (height, prongs, metal, hidden halo, engraving, etc.)

  • Review CAD renders/3D visuals, request tweaks

  • We craft, hallmark and finish your ring - typical lead time 4-6 weeks

How do I get their ring size without asking?

Borrow a ring they wear on the left-hand ring finger, trace the inner circle (or measure with a ring sizer). Alternatively, ask a friend/family member to help. However, we also offer professional sizing and resizing options if needed.

Is a lab-grown diamond a good idea for an engagement ring?

Yes. Lab grown diamonds are real diamonds with the same physical and optical properties as natural diamonds, typically offering larger sizes for the same budget. You’ll still want a trusted certificate (GIA/IGI) and a strong cut grade for sparkle.

Which matters most - cut, colour or clarity?

For most buyers:

Cut > Carat > Colour > Clarity.

A well-cut diamond will out-sparkle a bigger, poorly cut stone every time. Aim for Excellent/Ideal cut, near-colourless (G–H), and eye-clean clarity (VS–SI).

What carat size looks “big” on small hands?

Because of finger coverage, oval, pear, and marquise shapes often look larger at lower carat weights. Try 0.70 - 0.90ct in an elongated shape, you may be surprised how “big” it looks on the hand.

Can we design a ring together from scratch?

Absolutely. Book a bespoke consultation, we’ll sketch or CAD your design, source stones that match your brief and budget, and keep you updated through to the final polish.

How long does a made-to-order ring take?

Typically, 3 to 5 weeks, depending on design complexity and stone sourcing. Bespoke pieces with CAD approval can take 4 to 6 weeks. If you need your ring by a specific date, let us know, and we’ll do everything we can to get your ring delivered in time.

Will the ring sit flush with a wedding band?

Some settings (e.g. low-set solitaires, baskets, halos) may need a shaped/wishbone wedding band. If a flush fit is important, tell us, we’ll show you flush-fit settings or design the engagement ring with your future band in mind.
